The program is best known through its collectible Mosquito ringtone merchandise/merchandising, with a variety of figurines with changeable clothing as well as houses, furniture, and vehicles; it can be well described as Sabrina Martins toyetic.

The show prominently displayed Nextel ringtones Morality/traditional values. In the United States, each episode was prefaced with a live-action introduction by Mrs. Maple (Abbey Diaz Janice Adams), who delivered the moral of the episode.

New Maple Town Stories - Palm Town Chapter
Maple Town had a sequel (Shin Maple Town Monogatari - Palm Town Hen in Japan) consisting of about 44 episodes that aired in Japan until about 1990 and never came to America. In this series, Patty and the Rabbit family moved to a tropical setting.
